A LONG-TERM, close friend and psychiatrist, Dr. Mitzi E. Buot of Cebu, shared this feed over messenger that gives a refreshing “other view” of the much hated city of Wuhan, and what it bred—novel coronavirus (nCoV).
“Wuhan’s great contribution to the world:
1. The Hong Kong’s demonstrations have been completely stopped, and Hong Kong’s social order has rapidly returned to normal;
2. The yellow vest demonstration in France, which has been going on for more than 60 weeks, was terminated by the arrival of a woman from Wuhan.
3. The increasing tension of war situation in the Middle East and the US have suddenly cooled down.
4. The kids stressed tuition centers in the entire country are all closed down suddenly. The ministry of education has never been able to do it before, let alone the Wuhan seafood market did within a week!
5. All Chinese husbands are staying home accompanying their wives and vice versa. The longest family reunion for day and night, the Chinese wives have never experienced before being together for all so long, cultivating the moment of true love seeing each other 24/7. They say love is poisonous, but what love needs is this new coronavirus. Hahaaa.”
Though tongue-in-cheek, the five observations do show some positive side of Wuhan, and the novel coronavirus that it bred—a global spread, dubbed by some media personage as the 21st century “Black Plague”.
Going further than what has been identified as probable causes of the speedy spread of nCoV—i.e., human error leading to the accidental leak of the virus from the high security advanced laboratory in Wuhan that is only 20 miles or so away from the infamous Exotic Market of Wildlife that sold among other things black bat and wild baby fox, believed to be the root cause of the first case of this plague, there is the divine factor.
The other delineated causes by some experts quickly shared by netizens— intentional leakage or contamination by Chinese scientists studying the novel coronavirus, the deliberate act of high powered group of billionaires to reduce world population, China biological warfare, etc., there is in the end the truth that God is sovereign, and everything happened for a cause.
One clear thing is that the global quick spread of coronavirus is harbinger of the last days. If we are to believe Indian, Australian, American, English, and Filipino prophets, the worst is yet to come. We have little time to prepare ourselves, children, kinsmen, friends and co-workers for the start of days of tribulation.
How then shall we respond to the deadly threat of coronavirus that is now on our shores, thanks to insistent Chinese tourists from Wuhan and our non-caring president? Follow repeated instructions to carefully wash your hands with soap and/or clean with alcohol, drink a lot of water, eat plenty of vitamin C food (one guava fruit gives you the vitamin C dosage you need per day), suck on a slice of peeled fresh ginger 24/7, expose yourself to early morning sun, avoid movie houses, malls and gigs, and if you can, don’t go to hospitals.
There are many more practical measures like wearing mask when you travel in public conveyance, or find yourself in crowded places, or in close, confinement like an airplane ride, ensure you have at least seven to eight hours of sleep, plenty of rest, etc.
Best of all, pray, meditate, and intercede for our people and nation including those afflicted with the plague.
