199 police recruits take oath

SOME 199 police recruits took their oath as new members of the Philippine National Police while two police officers were promoted during a simple ceremony at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, Police Regional Office–Cordillera (PRO-COR) regional director administered the donning of ranks of Police Colonels Laureano Alexis Mariñas, and Mario Mayames Jr. followed by the oath taking of the 199 Philippine National Police successful applicants who qualified to fill up the attrition quota for PRO-COR.

Mariñas is currently the chief of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD), while Mayames heads the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15.

Earlier this week, another newly promoted Police Colonel, Peter Tagtag Jr. was also pinned and donned of his new rank which coincided with the Monday flag raising ceremony.

Out of the 1185 applicants who applied in the Online Recruitment Application System (ORAS), only the 199 composed of 47 females and 152 males made it in the sequential stages of recruitment, such as the physical agility test; psychiatric/psychological examination; physical, medical and dental examination; drug test; and complete background investigation.

“With you as additional force, do whatever it takes to protect our people in ensuring their safety and security and to maintain the good image of PRO-COR as the most disciplined police in the country,” Dickson said.
