IT WAS a productive Friday for me. I spent most of the morning doing errands and by the time I was done, I was already feeling very hungry.

I wanted to go somewhere nice to have lunch since it is also my day off. I remembered seeing a post on social media that Euro Baker, the bakery and cafe at the lower ground floor of Gaisano Mall of Davao, has new items on its menu. Also, it has been a long time since I ate here. Therefore, I decided to eat here.

For lunch, I ordered their specials -- Euro Chicken Curry and Euro Garlic Pasta. The pasta is a new item on the menu. I also ordered a glass of freshly squeezed watermelon juice.

The watermelon juice was served first. It looked refreshing when it was served. But unfortunately, while there was ice in the juice, it was room temperature when I took a sip. I had to leave it for a while to allow the ice to cool the juice.

The Euro Chicken Curry was a joy to eat. I love how it was presented. It was served with mango, pineapple, chutney, tomato, and onion. I liked that the chicken was bite-sized. The curry was also tasty. The side items also complemented the dish. When I had a spoonful of the curry with the diced pineapple and mango, I love that sweetness and freshness coming from the fruits.

When I ordered the Euro Garlic Pasta, they would ask if you want chili flakes on it or not. Since I enjoy spicy dishes, I had chili flakes added to my pasta. It was a good decision to make the dish spicier because if not for the chili flakes, it would just be a sweet pasta dish. The sauce was garlicky but I found it to be too sweet. The chili flakes balanced out the whole dish. A great thing about the dish was the garlic bread. I like that it does not harden over time. It was crunchy and soft in the center.

I had a nice lunch here at Euro Baker. I enjoyed what I had and would not mind dropping by again for brunch or lunch.
