STA. ANA— Representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales led the inauguration of the P5.5 million-worth San Isidro Covered Court here on Wednesday.
Gonzales, who was accompanied by Sta. Ana Mayor Rommel “Omeng” Concepcion, said that the construction of the said facility was accomplished in less than three months time and is now ready to host barangay activities and events.
“We want a well rounded development in terms of the social well-being of our constituents. We want them to have the chance to put up social events and sporting activities. These events contribute to the social well-being of a community and this covered court will serve as a focal point for such events,” Gonzales told Sun.Star Pampanga.
Gonzales said that three more covered courts are set to be inaugurated in various barangays here in the coming weeks. The lawmaker said that he is all out in supporting future sporting activities in the town in the coming months.
The infrastructure program of Gonzales, which aimed to provide the barangays with gigantic covered courts was started at the beginning of his term and will culminate in providing all barangays of the third district with their respective covered courts.
Meanwhile, Concepcion thanked Gonzales for providing the residents here of a conducive facility for their sports activities and public assemblies.
“We are very fortunate to have a leader who capitalizes on impact projects like this covered court. This facility will serve as a focal point where the social, cultural, political and sports activities of the barangay could be held rain or shine,” Concepcion said.
