No 2019-nCoV patient, PUI in regional hospital

THE Jose B. Lingad Regional Memorial Hospital (JBLRMH) on Thursday, January 30, asserted that it has not admitted, nor seen any patient who is considered a person under investigation (PUI), or affected by the novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD).

The hospital management once again enjoined the public to avoid being a tool for spread of false information amid the continuous circulation of unverified reports on various social media and other communication platforms.

It stressed that the Department of Health (DOH) regularly releases updates and health advisories regarding the 2019-nCoV ARD disease for the information and guidance of the public.

For the part of the hospital, JBLRMH Medical Chief Monserrat Chichioco said that they are prepared to address all cases of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, including the 2019-nCoV.

“We adhere by the decision tool released by the DOH, and standard infection control precautions are being implemented by all our health personnel,” she said.

To avoid being infected by the disease, JBLRMH advised the public to continue the usual practice of seeking early consultation and standard hygiene practice such as proper hand washing and proper cough etiquette.
