Thus said Mary the Queen College (Pampanga), Inc. (MQCPI) President Michael B. Lapid as he lauded the 13 new Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) including the efforts of the whole MQC community when it was recently ranked fifth with a passing rate of 65 percent among colleges and universities that offer accountancy courses in the Philippines in 2019 as posted by the localpulse.net.
One of the 13 MQCPI CPA board passers, Hill M. Enriquez, made it to the top 20.
Enriquez recalled how his journey developed before he made it to the top 20.
According to him, it was a combination of sacrifice, hard work, and prayer, as he recalled he “always asked the intercession of Mary the Queen each time he prays.”
He also said that his success is not mainly all about himself but also of the whole MQC community that surrounded him during the course of his stay at MQCPI starting with the maintenance personnel, staff, administration as well as his classmates and fellow legionnaires.
Other board passers include Princess Joy G. Amurao, John Quiel T. Carranza, Allen Vergel C. Dabu, Lira Sheene S. Mañalac, Regine B. Mañalac, Ronel B. Manlutac, Alma Rose D. Mendoza, Jamille S. Molina, Patricia I. Nicdao, Marjorie Z. Romero, Lalaine V. Serrano and Sharlene S. Vitug, among others.
Fifth best accountancy school in PH
According Local Pulse, a social news and entertainment network that provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and a menu of accurate and relevant information, a total of five out of 518 colleges and universities offering undergraduate programs in accountancy were ranked “Best Accountancy Schools in the Philippines for 2019” based on their over-all board exam performance in certified public accountant licensure examination this year and other factors.
Local Pulse also said that the ranking of the colleges and universities was based on their weighted passing rate for 2019 in certified licensure examination (May and October) and their total examinees.
“If the school has at least a 60 percent weighted passing rate in the CPA board exam and with 20 or more examinees, then it proceeds to score all necessary factors, namely, weighted passing rate (40 percent), number of examinees (20 percent), top-performing examinees (10 percent), accreditation status (20 percent), and faculty-student ratio (10 percent),” it said.
Joining MQCPI in the top five accountancy schools are De La Salle University, University of the Philippines-Diliman, University of the Philippines-Iloilo City, and Kingfisher School of Business and Finance.
It could be noted that in 2017, MQCPI ranked 20th, and ranked 15th in 2018 nationwide. (PR)
