TO INTRODUCE new baking technologies and reach untapped markets, the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) is organizing the second run of Bakery World expo.

Bakery World 2020 is a three-day baking and food service expo that showcases products, services, new technologies and market trends of the bakeries and food industries.

“Bakery World will help Cebuano bakers learn new techniques and with the technology that will promote their creativity,” said MCCI past president and Bakery World 2020 co-chairman Stanley Go.

He said that through the event, there is a huge chance of tapping new markets that can help local bakers.

The event will also help upgrade skills of bakers with the aid of the latest technologies in the baking industry.

Go said the exhibit will open up the market to small-and-large-scale bakeries and other bakery-related businesses in the Visayas and Mindanao.

One of the highlights of the event is the cake decorating contest that will showcase every baker’s unique creativity.

He said cake decorating has a wide-range of market, from children to adult and from birthday, weddings, to other occasions.

Bakery World was first launched in 2018 at J Centre Mall.

Some 57 exhibitors participated in the event. The expo mounted 113 booths, attracting almost 5,000 visitors from Cebu, Manila, Mindanao, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.

This year, MCCI will be holding Bakery World on Sept. 4 to 6, 2020 at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino Cebu City.

Bakery World 2020 chairman Calvin Gothong said the event will allow bakers to gain more knowledge in the baking industry.

He said they have invited renowned speakers to share their knowledge and best practices during the three-day event. (JOB)
