Business taxes payment marks P44.8-M increase

THE City Treasurer’s Office announced that its collection in business taxes is higher by P44.8 million representing a 43.33 percent increase during the operation of the Business One Stop Shop from January 2 to 20, 2020 compared to the same period in 2019.

City Treasurer Romelita Candido said they have so far collected a total of P148.6 million business taxes, which is higher by P44.8 million, from January 2 to 20 compared to P103.7 million collection in the same period of 2019.

Candido attributed the increase in business taxes collection to the nonextension of the due date for payment, which prompted local businessmen to meet the deadline to avoid penalty and other surcharges.

Candido said they have also registered an increase of 963 business applications to 11,131 as of January 20, 2020 from 10,168 in the same period of 2019.
