THE Chinese New Year 2020 was celebrated in hotels, resorts, restaurants, malls and in a few civic groups. Festivities included dance rituals like the dragon and lion dances with colorful costumes, lively music from the band and beautiful choreography. The Chinese food rituals and authentic courses completed the season.

The Chinese New Year has long been a traditional occasion and a holiday from work and classes to give more people time to celebrate. The Chinese tradition rituals are salient parts of our history. In Cebu, the Chinese population is relatively higher and big business, civic groups and schools keep the Chinese culture intact.

My best friends in Cebu are Chinese and their sincerity, loyalty and friendship are beyond compare.
