IN A bid to improve the healthcare services delivered to constituents, the local government of Candaba is eyeing the construction of a dialysis center in the town.

Mayor Rene Maglanque said the healthcare facility is eyed to be constructed before his first term ends in 2022 to address the need for treatment of Candabeños diagnosed with kidney diseases.

"Candabeños with kidney diseases have to travel to Mexico or City of San Fernando or in Bulacan province to receive their dialysis treatment twice or thrice a week. Instead of spending time and money for transportation, we wanted to provide comfort to the patients by constructing our own dialysis center here," he said.

Maglanque said the healthcare facility would be constructed beside the Candaba Community Hospital in Barangay Pasig.

The center will be a 14-bed capacity facility equipped with modern dialysis machines and other state-of-the-art equipment, Maglanque added.

Once finished, Maglanque said all Candabeño patients can avail themselves of the dialysis treatment for free.
