CEBUANOS can now avail themselves of a self-storage facility at StorageTown, the first business venture of the Cokaliong siblings.

The three-story storage facility opened on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020. It is located on Anecito St., Barangay Cabancalan in Mandaue City.

StorageTown houses over 1,000 units of space for lease. Its smallest unit is a 1.8-square-meter space that can accommodate eight to 12 balikbayan boxes with a rental fee of P999 per month.

The largest unit, on the other hand, is a 90-square-meter space with a rental fee of P45,000 per month.

Chase Cokaliong, the president of the StorageTown Inc., said they ventured into this business to provide Cebuanos spaces where they could store their prized possessions.

“The concept is you leave your things here and come back when you need them,” said Cokaliong.

Cokaliong is joined by his siblings Chesna, Chanel and Chaz in running this new venture.

The company invested some P250 million, including land acquisition to build the facility.

Sophisticated system

In terms of security, the facility has a hundred CCTV cameras, and each customer will be given a pin code access which is unique to every unit.

“Once you enter, you enter your pin code, the door opens and our smart lighting system will light a path going only to your unit,” said Cokaliong.

He said that this system will keep the privacy of their other customers and for energy conservation.

Every time someone uses the unique pin code and accesses the storage unit, their system will automatically send an email to their customer prompting that the unit has been accessed.

“You don’t only have to pin in but you also have to pin out to get out,” said Cokaliong.

Interested customers can book right away. They only need to bring a valid ID, payment and their items.

StorageTown accommodates different forms of payment such as bank transfer, credit card, auto-debit and checks. (KFD)
