DSWD: 364,000 Central Luzon households benefit from 4Ps programs

CLARK FREEPORT -- More than 364,497 households in Central Luzon are benefitting from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

This was learned from Cezar Cornelius David, head of the DSWD National Household Targeting, during the monthly forum of the Pampanga Press Club at Widus Hotel and Casino on Monday, February 3.

The beneficiaries are now undergoing assessment for their inclusion in the updated record called Listahan or the Talaan ng mga Pamilyang Nangangailangan, David said.

"We also need to assess the 364,000 4Ps program beneficiaries for us to identify their current status, are they considered poor para ma-include doon sa bagong listahan," he added.

A family of five members with an income of P14,000 and below are qualified to be included in the list, David said.

He added that they are currently preparing a new list of families below the poverty line to update their old record.

The household assessment for the third list or Listahanan 3 started in November 2019 and will be completed by July this year, the DSWD official said.

David said they are targeting 1.5 million household nationwide for their new list.

Listahanan is an information management system that identifies families qualified under the government's social programs like the 4Ps, according to the DSWD official.

The list is updated every four years with the first one made from 2009 to 2011 and the second 2015 to 2018, according to David.
