THE top official of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Northern Mindanao ordered 21 police personnel to explain after they were found to have committed violations during the inspection of police-owned vehicles and motorcycles Monday, February 3.

PRO-Northern Mindanao Director Rolando Anduyan wants to hear their explanation before administrative sanctions are imposed.

“This is part of the internal cleansing program of the PNP (Philippine National Police), prohibiting PNP personnel from using unregistered vehicles and in support to the campaign against unregistered vehicles,” Brigadier General Anduyan said.

The Northern Mindanao police conducted simultaneous inspection of vehicles and motorcycles owned by police officers from the regional headquarters down to provincial and city police offices, together with the Highway Patrol Group and PNP regional crime laboratory.

Around 452 vehicles and motorcycles were checked and 21 personnel were issued with citation tickets for different violations such as delinquent registration, failure to carry OR/CR, no plate attached, expired license and even wearing of slippers.

PRO-Northern Mindanao spokesperson Mardy Hortillosa said those who were issued with citation tickets will have to pay the corresponding penalties to the local government.

“Gi-inspection tanan mga sakyanan sa mga police sulod sa mga headquarters para masuta kung naa bay violations. Kaning mga naisyuhan og citation ticket magbayad sa munisipyo or city hall sa ilang violations unya patubagon dayon sila ni RD,” Lieutenant Colonel Hortillosa said.

(All police vehicles inside the headquarters were inspected to check if there are violations. Those who were issued citation tickets will pay the fine at the city hall for their violations and will be asked to explain to regional director Anduyan.)

Anduyan asked the public to remain vigilant and report to higher officials any misconduct of police personnel so appropriate actions will be carried out against erring members of the organization.
