2 workers hurt in Bajada shooting

TWO construction workers are undergoing treatment at the Davao Medical Center (DMC) after two gunmen shot at them in Bajada, Davao City Thursday.

Senior Police Officer 2 Henry Balbiran, investigator of the Sasa police station, identified the victims as Alfonso Daigdigan, 30, and Charlie Tejero, 20, both natives of Bukidnon Province residing on Carmelite Road, Bajada.

Balbiran, in his spot report, said the victims were walking home together with a friend, Ricky Ochege, when two unidentified armed men shot at them at around 2 a.m.

Daigdigan was hit in the head while Tejero in his feet. Daigdigan is in critical condition. The men fled immediately after the shooting.

Police are still conducting investigation to identify the men behind the crime.

Meanwhile, a soldier is undergoing treatment at the DMC after he was stabbed at the Panacan public market at around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim is identified as Sgt. Diomedes Minao, 38 of the Army's 10th Infantry Division based in Camp Apolinario Panacan.

A certain alias Charlie, 18, resident of Panacan, reportedly followed Minao as he left a videoke house inside the Panacan public market.

The victim was hit in the left shoulder. The suspect remains at large. (AD)
