ILOILO City Mayor Jerry Treñas has issued another executive order expanding the coverage of the pork ban to include Davao and other areas that have been infected with African Swine Fever (ASF).

In Executive Order 097, series of 2020, dated February 2, Treñas said live pigs, hog carcasses, pork, pork products and by-products originating from and processed in Luzon, as well as Davao Region are barred from entering Iloilo City.

The Department of Agriculture recently announced positive ASF cases in Don Marcelino and Malita towns in Davao Occidental.

Treñas said pork and pork products will only be allowed entry into Iloilo City when the ASF problem is totally resolved.

Iloilo City is the main entry and exit point of inter-regional conveyance through the Iloilo International Airport and Iloilo International Port in Loboc, Lapuz, Iloilo City. (SunStar Philippines)
