P780,000 worth of drugs seized

OVER P700,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in a drug bust launched by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon and Angeles City Police Station 2 in Angeles City Thursday, February 6.

The illegal drugs were confiscated from two drug personalities identified as Roberto P. Pangilinan Jr., 32, and Robinito P. Pangilinan, 42, both residents of Barangay Pampang, Angeles City.

The two suspects are known to be bulk sellers of shabu in the locality, according to the station officer of PDEA in Angeles City.

"Our operatives were able to secure a drug deal from the suspects for the amount of P1,000 worth of shabu and agreed to meet in Purok 1 where they were collared by the joint anti-narcotic operatives," said PDEA-Central Luzon Director Lyndon Aspacio.

Seized from the suspects were 115 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P780,000, various drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the operation.

The pieces of evidence will be turned over to PDEA-Central Luzon laboratory for quantitative and qualitative examinations.

The suspects are now detained at PDEA jail facility in Diosdado Macapagal Government Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Violation of section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165 will be charged against them.
