A JOINT anti-drug operation led to the arrest of a 41-year-old village councilor in Tolosa, Leyte Saturday, February 8.
Priam Salvo Ibanez, married, a high-value target and village councilor of Barangay Quilao in Tolosa town, was nabbed around 10 a.m. Saturday by operatives of the Leyte Provincial Police Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (LPPO-PDEU), Tolosa Municipal Police, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Eastern Visayas.
Purchased from the suspect was one sachet of shabu, police said.
Confiscated from his possession and control were three sachets of shabu, a P500 bill, P2,250 cash, a cellphone, and one folded paper containing dried marijuana leaves.
The suspect will face charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (SunStar Philippines)
