Ferriols moving to Barangay Ginebra

THE Alaska Aces’ loss will definitely be Barangay Ginebra’s gain as the Gin Kings have secured the services of former Negros Slashers skipper Hubert John Ferriols.

This after the former MVP of the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) became an unrestricted free agent two days back.

Ginebra head coach Jong Uichico confirmed they are getting the 6’5” former MVP while Alaska Aces team manager Joaqui Trillo admitted they decided to put Ferriols on the reserve list to make room for Samigue Eman whom the Aces acquired during the latter part of the Philippine Cup.

Ferriols leaves behind at the Alaska bench fellow Negrense and former Negros Slashers teammate Reynel Hugnatan who is currently being used as frontline man by Coach Tim Cone. “Medyo mamimiss ko rin naman ang partnership namin ni Reynel pero ganyan talaga sa pro eh, wala tayong magawa pag dumating na ang trade,” the soft-spoken Ferriols told Sun.Star Bacolod in a telephone interview last Wednesday.

Meanwhile, reports said another PBA out-of-town game is slated at the Victorias City Coliseum in Victorias City on April 10, Saturday.
