Soul siren Nina and musical artist Wency Cornejo captured the hearts of Negrenses during their recent live concert dubbed as Nina Live held at SMX Convention Center, SM Bacolod City on February 7, 2020.
The live concert was held for the benefit of the disadvantaged dependents of Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc.
KNFI founder and president Anna Balcells said, “We whole heartedly thank everyone who attended and supported Nina Live with Wency Cornejo. To everyone who supported the show, your support cannot be overstated and we are truly grateful for the continuous love our children received from you.”
“With your support, we are able to put through hardships and continue to bring joy to the disadvantaged children of Negros,” she added.
Balcells with her fellow KNFI officers and members Ginnette Dumancas, Gigi Campos, Alan Gensoli, Ana Maria Macasa Sanson, Juliana Ballesteros Carbon, Astrid Hocking, Mhel Enderes Sillador, Ligaya Abelarde, AJ Pelongco, Kier Orelba, and Jade Elix, among others helped in ensuring the success of the said benefit concert.
The two Filipino artists shared their gift of singing and as well as their talents to reach out to those who can help the disadvantaged minors who are under the care of KNFI, through the concert.
The crowd showed a fondness in the performance of the two Filipino artists whose talents were unrivaled.
Their music has indeed touched the hearts of those who went to the concert.
It was a night of wonderful music sung by the Nina and Wency.
Balcells shared that every year, on the average, KNFI cares and supports more than a hundred abused and abandoned children who were sexually, physically and emotionally abused, victims of human trafficking, cybercrime,and abandoned babies.
“Horrible stories about kids you thought happened only in the movies, happen everywhere, especially here in Negros. We saved them. Kalipay has saved them. We nursed them back to health, fed, clothed and sheltered them, educate them in our own school to prevent them from being bullied. And because, of all these, we need financial help. To put it in context, the basic things a child needs to grow with dignity, multiply that by 110,” she said.
“Thankfully, God sends us people to complete us. Through the 12 years of work, we have been blessed by generous hearts without whose contributions we could not have helped the children. We are grateful to share that we now have college graduates who are gainfully employed and some have been embraced by adoptive and caring homes duly qualified by our strict requirements and those of the government. Thank you for heeding our call for help. I am confident that God will take care of them,” she said.
