VALENTINE'S Day is just a few days away and if you’re the kind who’s into gift giving whenever an occasion comes up, like V-Day, here’s a few things I’d recommend for you to get for your S.O. That’s significant other if you got lost in the acronym there.
Please note though that, I am, in no way connected to the brands in this list. Also, I picked these brands because I know some of my techie friends use the same brands and have not told me any horror stories about it. If it’s good enough for my techie friends, it’s good enough for me and should be good enough for you.
USB-C Hub
This one’s from a brand called UGREEN. It’s got 3 USB 3.0 ports, 1 Gigabit ethernet port, and 1 USB-C PD (power delivery) port. The USB 3.0 ports you use for your external hard drives and other USB-A devices. That Gigabit ethernet port will come in handy when you find the need to hardwire yourself to your router instead of using wi-fi. And finally, that last power delivery port will let you charge your USB-C laptop or phone while still moving data around.

USB-C to USB-A adapter
Now that you have that hub above, I’d recommend also that you get this adapter. Why? Future-proofing. That hub above has a USB-C connector and there’s a high chance that your personal computer has the USB-A. The adapter will let you use that hub with whatever personal computer you have now. And once you have the budget to upgrade to a brand new computer with just the USB-C as its ports, you still have that hub to take advantage of.

Mechanical keyboard
If you’ve been on computers long enough, you probably can remember the keyboards of old that were chunky and felt satisfying to type on. And for any self-respecting techie out there, a mechanical keyboard is something to aspire for on your desk. It doesn’t matter if you’ll pair it with your laptop or with your desktop. A mechanical keyboard is a mechanical keyboard is a mechanical keyboard.
