THE ARQ Builders are just a win away from repeating as champions in the Duterte Basketball Cup after they routed SMCCO in Game One of the best-of-three finals series, 91-75, at the Capitol Parish gym on Sunday evening, Feb. 9, 2020.
Jesus Saga and Arriesgado Snay provided the firepower for the team of businessman and sportsman Jason Arquisola to place them ahead in the series, 1-0. The Builders can wrap the title up in Game Two on Sunday, Feb. 16, at the same venue.
Saga piled up 21 points while Snay added 13 markers, two rebounds and two assists.
More importantly, ARQ’s defense stifled SMCCO’s normally fluid offense to give them a leg up in this series. SMCCO was led by Christopher Salazar who had 27 points and nine rebounds. JNP
