P212,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P212,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in separate drug busts conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from February 7 to 9.

The operations led to the arrest of Niko Villan, 27, of Barangay Efinio, Talisay City; John Rey Tayucon, 25, of Barangay Villamonte; and his companions Dexter Dagatan, 30, of Barangay Cansilayan, Murcia; Mark Bille, 35, of Barangay Villamonte; Elesaldie Cadalman, 31, of Barangay 26; and Oscar Tajanlangit, of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Villan, who was identified as street level target, was arrested by operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 3 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover in Purok Katilingban, Barangay Banago Sunday morning, February 9.

Police recovered from Villan's possession eight sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P18,000, and the P500 marked money.

Tayucon, who was included in BCPO's watchlist, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 along with his companions Dagatan, Bille, and Cadalman in Purok Medalya, Barangay Villamonte around 8:30 p.m. Friday, February 7.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 11 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P180,000, the P1,000 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Tajanlangit was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 in Purok Lirio, Barangay 33 around 7:45 p.m. Friday, February 7.

Police recovered from Tajanlangit's possession four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P14,000, and the P500 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2, 3, and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
