SECURITY guards of SM City Bacolod and their affiliates once more displayed their readiness and alertness in their profession as they went through a joint tactical inspection, an annual exercise of the SM Supermalls’ customer relations service department.
This is the 12th year of the ceremonies and general assembly of the guards of the mall, where the contingent of close to 100 security personnel presented themselves for inspection of uniform, posture, equipment, alertness to situations, response to protocols, and readiness to serve to their commander-in-chief and guest of honor.
Leading the SM group’s executive team in customer relations and security affairs was SM Supermalls’ senior assistant vice president Almus Alabe. Joining him were the executives from the respective security divisions: Charleston Tan for SM Retail and Victor Santiago for the SM Food Retail Group.
Through this joint tactical inspection, we at SM Supermalls continue to motivate our security units to be efficient front liners,” said Alabe. “We also conduct this every year to ensure that we are in conformance with the standards set by the Philippine National Police,” he added.
Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, director of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office, served as the guest of honor and inspirational speaker for the day.
Part of the ceremony included the recognition rites for security guards who were exemplary in their performance throughout the year, for which Baleros awarded and commended.
All across the 74 malls around the country, SM security guards all undergo the same tactical inspection. George Jardiolin, SM City Bacolod mall manager said that the guards are among the first faces customers see when they enter any SM property. “They play an important role for our mall, where lots of people come every day,” he said.
The SM Security Force lives by their core values of courtesy, professionalism and respect. There are also members of the team that have been assigned to SM City Bacolod since the mall opened in 2007.
