CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Pet owners and enthusiasts gathered early Saturday morning (February 8) to join this year's "Pet Mo, Show Mo" at the Heroes Hall.
The activity was initiated by the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (Cavo) for the eighth year. It was in line with the celebration of Kaganapan 2020.
"Pet Mo, Show Mo" is a program of the local government that aims to promote the rights of protection of the animals and responsible pet ownership.
This year's competition had four categories, namely: Glamour and Style, Cool and Dandy, Tough and Glory, and Intergalactic.
Each category had special awards like Most Beautiful Pet, Look Alike, and Best Dressed Pet for the Glamour and Style category.
For Cool and Dandy, there were three categories: Most Friendly Pet, Most Behave Pet, and Cleanest/Best Groomed Pet.
Most Clever Pet and The Entertainer Award or Best in Talent were under the Tough and Glory category, while Most Exotic Pet and Ugliest Pet Award were under the Intergalactic category.
The winners received certificates and cash prizes.
During his speech, Mayor Edwin Santiago encouraged everyone to support the capital city's actions in promoting responsible pet ownership by availing the basic services of the Cavo for the welfare of animals.
"Marami po tayong mga programa para sa inyong mga alagang hayop, gaya ng pagbabakuna sa kanila na siyang napakahalaga upang makaiwas sila sa anumang sakit gaya ng rabies," Santiago said.
Architect Hermel Gulapa, Kaganapan 2020 Chairperson, also graced the activity. (PR)
