6 rescued in massage parlor raid

A MASSAGE parlor and spa situated in Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City was raided by a joint enforcement team on Monday night, Feb. 10, 2020, after some of their personnel were caught offering sexual services to their customers.

A joint team led by the Philippine National Police’s Women and Children Protection Center-Visayas Field Unit (WCPC-VFU) conducted the raid at the massage parlor and spa situated on Mactan St., Ayala Access Road in Barangay Hipodromo, which resulted in six women being and two others arrested for operating the establishment.

Police Lt. Col. Raul Bolido, who heads the WCPC-VFU, identified those arrested as Mary Craze Davidas and Darling Guston.

Bolido said just before the operation, they receiving initial information concerning the sexual services offered at the establishment worth P3,000 or more.

Bolido said the six women they rescued were reportedly forced by the establishment’s owners to provide sexual services for their clients in exchange for money.

“We were able to establish what they were doing through one of our agents doing undercover at their establishment. They usually offer their sexual services online. What the customer does is to visit their website and make their transaction there,” Bolido told SunStar Cebu.

Once the customer is able to conclude the transaction through the establishment’s website, he can personally visit the establishment and consummate the service there.

The six women rescued during the operation are currently under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Visayas while appropriate charges are being prepared against Davidas and Guston.

Aside from the WCPC-VFU, the team were also composed of personnel from the Cebu City Police Office, the Regional Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, Department of Labor and Employment and DSWD 7. (BBT / JKV)
