P161,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P161,000 worth of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts in Bacolod City from February 10 to 11.

The operations led to the arrest of Cezar Jan Decosta, 19, of Barangay 10; Loveniel Rusiana, 33, of Barangay Singcang-Airport; Patrick Aquino, of Bacolod City, and the 15-year-old boy, whose name is being withheld.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Aquino was arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Purok Riverside, Barangay Sum-ag, Tuesday morning.

Police recovered from Aquino’s possession four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P8,000, the marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Decosta and the 15-year-old boy were arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 at about 10:10 p.m. Monday.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P48,000, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Rusiana was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 at Prk. Hallow Blocks, Barangay Singcang-Airport at about 10:45 p.m.

Police recovered from Rusiana’s possession 10 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P105,000, the P300 marked money, and a pouch.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2, 6, and 9 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
