THE Provincial Board of Negros Occidental approved Tuesday, February 11, the P181,235,000 supplemental budget where bulk of it will be spent for the repair and renovation of the Panaad Park and Stadium.
Board Member Rommel Debulgado, chairman of the committee on finance, said that of the P181-million budget, P158 million is appropriated for the repair of the Panaad Park and Stadium in preparation of the hosting of the province of the Regional Meet on February 2021 and the Palarong Pambansa on April 2021.
Debulgado explained that additional supplemental budget is expected soon for additional budget for the main venue of the major sporting event in the country.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said that a total budget of P250 million is needed for the repair of Panaad.
Debulgado meanwhile said that aside from the P158 million for Panaad, P8 million is allocated for the logistical support of the Provincial Investment and Promotion, P2 million for the renovation and conference room of the Provincial Investment and Promotion Office and P13 million as support fund for the Panaad sa Negros Festival.
Aside from the P13 million, the 12 cities and 19 municipalities will be given P200,000 each as financial assistance for their respective pavilions for the festivities. (TDE)
