3 more Bacolod PUIs test negative for nCoV

ANOTHER three persons under investigation (PUI) in Bacolod City were tested negative for the 2019 novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD).

Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force against nCoV, said Tuesday, February 11, that the three PUIs, who are quarantined at the city’s tertiary hospitals, are only waiting for the discharge instruction after they were tested negative for nCoV.

“Once they will be released, we will only have one PUI left at the city’s tertiary hospital and it’s a good development,” she said.

The three PUIs who are set to be discharged are one male and two females.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, chairman of the task force, earlier said that there were nine PUIs, but one of them was released after a thorough evaluation and was only considered person under monitoring.

Tan said the total PUIs in Bacolod are only eight and the remaining PUI, who is a Filipino female, is still waiting for the laboratory test result from the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM).

She said the discharged PUIs will also undergo the 14-day quarantine in their homes and they will be monitored by the surveillance officers.

She added they intensified its monitoring and campaign to prevent and control the nCoV.

Tan pointed out that the public should not withhold their travel history from the countries affected with nCoV so that they will be monitored to prevent the possible spread of the nCoV.

“We need the cooperation of everybody here to prevent the spread of nCoV,” she said.

She added the task force also held a meeting Tuesday and discussed the results of the monitoring of their members who have a vital role for the control and prevention of nCoV. (MAP)
