PNP-AKG to probe

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Kidnapping Group is looking for the owner of the mobile number who sent a bomb threat message to the principal of the Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) last Monday, February 10.

Classes in MOGCHS were suspended after the school's principal received around noon a message that says: "A bomb will explode inside your campus at exactly 1:00. Many students will die."

But the police and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) reported that the school was negative of any explosive devices.

"Anonymous number gi forward na nato sya para ma-trace tong number sa nagbinuang (It was an anonymous number and we forwarded it to trace who sent the message)," Police Station 2 Chief Ernesto Sanchez said.

Sanchez added that once identified, the message sender will be charged with violation of the Presidential Decree 1727 or the malicious dissemination of false information or the willful making of any threat concerning bombs, explosives, or any similar device or means of destruction and imposing penalties for it.

Sanchez also encouraged the public to immediately report to the police if they received a bomb threat such as this.

"Tanan mga bomb scare kami kapulisan amo gyud gina treat as real tanan proseso, tanan ato gyud na i-apply. Ato gyud i-treat as serious (We treat all bomb scares as real and serious threat)," Sanchez said.
