HAIL all! With the unprecedented popularity of coffee shops—which have mushroomed in every conceivable corner—here are two more!
Opening its 10th branch in Cebu at the Baseline Center along Juana Osmeña St., is the Abaca Group’s Abaca Baking Company (ABC).
All 45 square meters of the area serves handcrafted pastries, baked daily from croissants and sweet treats to tasty coffee blends. As you enjoy savory cuisine, let your eyes wander to a backdrop of artworks by Cebu artists. ABC is open from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight, with a daily sale of 50 percent off from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight.
There’s also ABC’s all-day dining featuring the classic Filipino breakfast bowl of tapa, bangus or chorizo. Try ABC’s three-cheese omelette. And always welcome is the All-American choice of eggs on toast, bacon or sausages.
As the food and beverage partner of The Ascott Group, which manages Citadines Cebu City at Baseline Center, ABC offers irresistible banquet packages for corporate functions, socials and meetings.
Another place worth checking out is the new Café Cristina. It is a convenient and pleasant meeting place with two meeting nooks and seven function rooms that can accommodate a minimum of 50 and maximum of 950 persons. It is part of the newly renovated and expanded Sacred Heart Center on D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City.
It took some 43 years before the well-located establishment upgraded its facilities to world-class. The December 2019 blessing coincided with the feast of St. Francis Xavier, Jesuit saint and patron of missions. Within this spiritual ambience, the blessing was officiated by His Excellency Jose S. Palma, DD Archbishop of Cebu, assisted by the Jesuit Fathers of Sacred Heart Parish. Very visible were members of the Sacred Heart Parish Ladies Association, who manage the center’s various facilities.
Indeed, the center is now embarking on “Business with a Heart”—the center’s commitment to service with a mission.
For this lofty goal, we doff our hats to them!
