THE Blue Panthers squeaked past the Yellow Submarines, 41-39, in the opening day of Sprobe Basketball Tournament at the Sacred Heart Center Gym.
Jake Silawan single-handedly lifted the Panthers to victory with a 23-point performance.
Jesswyrrne Gonzalez chipped in eight points, while Jay Piquero led the Submarines with 16 markers.
Marvyn Sue and Neil Kenneth Genotiva also added 12 and eight points, respectively.
The tournament has six teams--the Blue Panthers, the Yellow Submarines, the Red Horse Stallions, the Purple Warriors, the Orange Igniters and the Green Goblins.
The Sprobe Basketball Tournament resumes action on Feb. 22, 2020 still at the Sacred Heart Center Gym. (JNP)
