Nigerian arrested in Baguio

A NIGERIAN national was nabbed for several crimes by authorities Wednesday morning in Baguio City.

Police Major Divine Mencio, Cyber Crime Division Deputy Chief of the Police Regional Office said combined police operatives through a search warrant issued by Judge Rufus Makecdan Jr. arrested Promise Uduchukwu Chigbu a.k.a. Promise Tobais in Lower Pinget at 10:00 a.m. of February 12.

Chigbu was arrested for violation of the Access Devises Regulation Act of 1998, Anti Bouncing Check law, Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and forging treasury or bank note.

The Nigerian also allegedly committed falsification by private individual and use of falsified documents, using fictitious name and concealing true name under the Revised Penal Code.

Personnel of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit - Cordillera led by Police Colonel Rommel Javier in coordination with Baguio City Police Office Station 2, led by OIC Police Captain Dencio Dayao and operatives from the Regional Mobil Forces Brigade (RMFB) 15 confiscated from the suspect a laptop, 28 pieces of P500 peso bill worth P9,000, passport, assorted sim cards and assorted documents.
