FRESH from winning the HNH tourney's 12-under crown, the Corpus Christi toddlers will try to sustain their seven-game win streak in the LGU-DepEd Grassroots Developmental basketball games when it resumes Saturday, February 15, at the City Hall ground of Cagayan de Oro.

"We've learned from our mistakes sa bag-ohay lang natapos nga HNH hoopfest. Milabaw mi'g hapit trayenta hapit pa nabayong," said CCS coach Carlo Dagalea, referring to their 73-72 championship win over the visiting Bethel Baptist School of Valencia City, Bukidnon at the Corpus Christi gym last Sunday, February 9.

Tournament director Raul Fuentes said it will be the last playing day for quarterfinals on Saturday with three games for the 17-under bracket in the whole morning.

First to take the floor at 9 a.m. are Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) against Tablon National High School, followed by Corpus Christi versus Agusan NHS and Assumption Montessori School (AMS) opposite Carmen NHS.

Coach Dagalea's Corpus Christi Baby Knights will clash with Carmen's West City Central School for the only 12-under match of the day at 12 noon.

Capping the day is the 17-under tussle between Merry Child and CDONHS City High Tigers at 1 p.m.

The crossover semifinal matches will be played on Sunday at same venue.

"Pa-simple simple lang kining atong torneyo sa local DepEd with the help of LGU-CDO pero daghan na gakatabangan nga mga kabatan-onan sa ilang sports development," the soon to be Hall of Famer basketball organizer Fuentes told SunStar Cagayan de Oro.
