Bizmen told to get permit, pay taxes

ILOILO City Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) head Norman Tabud has appealed to establishments to get business permit and pay corresponding taxes.

This came after the Joint Inspection Teams (JITs) started last February 3 their inspection rounds to check the business permits of establishments.

The JITs are composed of representatives of BPLO, City Treasurer’s Office, City Health Office, Office of the City Zoning Administration, City Engineer’s Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Tourism and Development Office, Boarding House Commission, and Task Force on Internet.

Mayor Jerry Treñas reconstituted the JIT through an executive order for inspections related to pre- and post-registration process, and to support the implementation of new streamlined business permit and licensing system.

“Because of the persistent inspection and monitoring on establishments, we have been receiving additional applications for business permits,” Tabud said. (PR)
