All PUIs in Cordillera test negative for Covid–19

THE Department of Health Cordillera (DOH–CAR) reported all 23 individuals who were categorized as “persons under investigation” (PUIs) were tested negative for novel coronavirus disease (Covid–19).

In its February 13 medical briefing, Doctor Amelita Pangilinan, director of DOH-CAR, said the results include the 10-month-old infant that was included in the PUI list in February 11.

“For the Cordillera Region, there are still nine individuals currently admitted as of 12:00 noon of February 12, and the good news is that all the results came in and it turned out to be negative. All of the 14 including the nine here are all negative from the Covid-19. We pray that this will continue,” Pangilinan reported.

Pangilinan added all the individuals are now in stable condition including the 10–month–old infant.

“All of them are in stable condition even the 10–month–old who I continue to monitor. Even if they are already out of the hospital, they will have to observe the strict infection prevention and to observe a healthy lifestyle,” Pangilinan said.

Meanwhile, DOH- CAR will conduct stress debriefing for medical personnel in the region who were sent to help in Taal. These will also be done to all frontliners against Covid–19.

“A health team from the Cordillera was deployed for two weeks after the Taal volcano eruption underwent a psychosocial stress debriefing in La Union before coming back here, so there is really a trained psychologist to handle this so that whatever they have seen and experience, they would be brought out,” Pangilinan added.
