THE Sundown was hailed as the new San Miguel Wanderbattle champions and will be playing at the Wanderland Music & Arts Fest 2020 on March 7 and 8 at the Filinvest City Events Grounds, Alabang, Philippines.
Last Feb. 1, the San Miguel Wanderbattle finals finally concluded at the Upper Plaza, Mango Square Mall, Cebu City. The Sundown emerged as the winning band, winning a slot to play at the Wanderland Festival 2020 and a whopping P50,000. This is the second Cebu win at the Wanderbattle since Intertwined brought home the gold in 2019.
The Sundown is a Cebu-based band made up of Vincent James Eco and Gino Rosales on guitars, Alden Panes on drums, Luigi Balazo on bass, and Aaron Domingo on vocals. Their sound can be described as anthemic, strangely familiar and nostalgic, enveloped within a rousing mix of new wave and indie-pop that’s enough to make one stand up, dance, shout and feel elated.
The San Miguel Wanderbattle Finals was filled with good music and surrounded by good people who came to the festivity to support their favorite Wanderband: Cebu was represented by The Sundown and Sansette, while Manila was represented by Morobe and allen&elle.
The crowd was also entertained by guest performers, 2019 Wanderbattle champs, Intertwined, along with the Wonggoys and Autotelic.
Aside from the announcement of winners for Wanderband, Wanderartist winners were also announced. Amiel Rivera, Wika Nadera, Alagad Ng Sining and Faith De Leos will be performing live art at the Wanderland Festival 2020. (PR)
