THERE is something about rooftop bars—no matter how many floors up just as long as it’s at the top—that somehow elevates the scene. Apart from getting a nice view, you’re removed from the hustle and bustle even for just a few hours—good enough reason not to rush.

Tucked within a street teeming with options for partygoers is Dilidium Rooftop Bar, offering a space for those who just want to chill, whether it’s after a long day’s work or if you’re looking to kill some time solo or with your buddies. Basically, the idea is to take your time.

While you’re sticking around, choose from its drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic including unique concoctions to look out for. Some drinks that come to mind include the June Bug, a sweet mix of banana and melon; Guns and Roses, made with lychee and rosé; and the Volcano Mojito, one of many mojito varieties made with coriander and hot chili in gin.

Pair a drink with its selection of Western grub from starters like gambas al ajillo; pasta choices like chicken carbonara and marinara seafood; to platters good for sharing such as its fish and chips and the crowd favorite, the baby back ribs, to name a few.

Dilidium Rooftop Bar opened March last year as a space where people can hang back, enjoy the breeze and most of all, chill with ease.

“That’s what we’re aiming for—comfort. I want people to feel a sense of privacy in this place,” shared Yenny Cho who co-manages the place. Being a fine arts graduate, she said the intent of putting up the bar, apart from offering a laidback spot, was for fellow creatives to express themselves and for her to be inspired by them. “This place was built for designers. Anyone who comes here, I hope they get inspiration from each other while at the same time enjoy the privacy.”

Dilidium Rooftop Bar is located at the rooftop of MJ 1106, Sacris road, A.S. Fortuna St., Mandaue City, Cebu. It is open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. every Monday to Saturday. It also has a function room for meetings or private events for a maximum of 15 to 20 people.
