Cordillera still Covid-19 free

CORDILLERA Administrative Region (CAR) remains coronavirus disease (Covid–19) free. In its February 14 medical health briefing, Doctor Amelita Pangilinan, Department of Health (DOH)–Cordillera director reported that CAR listed 10 persons under investigation (PUI) cases in Feb. 13. “We still have zero confirmed case in the region while for the country, it still remains at three with the three Chinese nationals. Currently admitted PUI’s in the country is at 230. For CAR, we currently have 10 admitted PUI’s. Four of these are new cases. The place of admission for strict home confinement is in Baguio City is four, Abra with three, Mountain Province with one, and Benguet with two,” Pangilinan said. DOH–CAR clarified the daily number of cases vary as others who may have earlier been listed as PUIs have now been placed as persons under monitoring (PUM). The case count being followed is on a daily basis and not the total number of cases since the start of monitoring in the region. “Of the 10 new cases, two are currently facility admitted while eight are strictly home quarantined,” Pangilinan stated. DOH continue to advocate strict infection prevention control measures such as hand washing, cough and cold etiquette, fever monitoring which would indicate the use for masks. A new advisory for all provincial and city health offices in the region meanwhile was issued February 14 by the regional health department monitoring the price and availability of the N95 disposable face masks end ethyl alcohol to prevent the hoarding, profiteering, cartels and alike that compromises the access of the people to these pharmaceutical products.
