7s PhilAm Life Bacolod to kick off Feb. 23

ANOTHER weekend football is set to kick off on February 23 as hundreds of homegrown footballers are expected to converge for the 7s PhilAm Life Bacolod at the Bantug Polo field at Brgy. Alangilan in Bacolod City.

Among the categories to be contested are Born 2006, Born 2007, Born 2010, Born 2003, Women’s Open, Veterans and Men’s Open.

Seeing action for Born 2006 are Dolphins Negros, Trinity Christian School FC, Bacolod United FC, FCB FC, Universal FC, and St. John’s Institute; Born 2007 - Dolphins Negros A and B, SAA FC, BU FC. Visayan Heroes FC, Himamaylan FC, Universal FC, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School 2, Pharma FC, and Maradula FC; Born 2010 - Dolphins Negros, University of St. La Salle FC, Maradula FC, and UNO-R; Born 2004 - FCB, STI-WNU, and TCS; and Born 2003 - St. Scholastica’s S Academy FC, BU FC, and STI-West Negros University FC.

Meanwhile, competing for the Women’s 2004 are SSA FC, UNO-R FC, Visayasn Heroes, and TCS FC; Women’s Open are Dolphins Negros, Cadiz Rushkals, Rounins United, SCLI, Pontevedra FC, Panthers FC, STI-WNU FC, GSF United, and SSA FC; Veterans - Silay City, West Negros Alumni, FCB 40, and Villa Angela; Men’s Open Division 1- Ceres La Salle A and B, STI-WNU, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, BI Designs FC and Pontevedra FC; and Men’s Open Division 2- East Side, IRFC A and B, Kandingan, Shohoku, Silay Lokals, Bacolod City National High School, GIGA OHMS, Wise Guy, and Atletico Negrense

It was recalled that 7s CEO and former Azkals defender Anton del Rosario was in Bacolod City to discuss with coaches and team managers the concept and importance of this tournament in the development of football in the country, particularly in the provinces.
