Bacolod-Silay Airport undergoes random check for drugs

BACOLOD-SILAY Airport is negative of drugs during a random inspection by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

PDEA-NOCPO Airport Interdiction Unit (AIU) conducted random paneling and K9 sweeping operation at the cargo warehouse and baggage conveyors of the Bacolod-Silay Airport Friday morning, February 14.

The team also conducted profiling of passengers at the pre-departure and arrival airport lobbies.

The said operation yielded negative for any presence of illegal drugs and its controlled precursors and essential chemicals.

Meanwhile a cross matching of data on illegal drugs including figures and stat on anti-drug operations, arrests, seizures and identifying discrepancies was held by the different regional offices at the PDEA Western Visayas conference room.

The Regional Tactical Operations Center (RTOC) together with the representatives from the PNP Regional Office 6 conducted the activity.

The said activity is done in preparation for the national harmonization workshop. (TDE)
