Wyndham Destinations raises funds for Taal victims

CLARK FREEPORT -- “The Wyndham Destinations service centre in Clark recently raised more than P12,000 for families affected in the Taal Volcano eruption.”

Taal Volcano, located near Batangas City, north of Manila, erupted in January and forced thousands of families to depart from their homes and temporarily stay in evacuation centers.

Through the company’s philanthropic program, Wishes by Wyndham, more than 300 staff donated good quality clothing, blankets, footwear and medicine for residents in affected communities.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who are still staying in temporary accommodation or with family and friends as they rebuild their homes after the disaster. We hope our contributions can help provide some relief during this difficult time,” said Jerry Estrada, Director of Operations at the Wyndham Destinations service center.

“I am proud of all the staff who generously donated much-needed funds, some of which were used to purchase more than 700 food items, hygiene kits and bottled drinking water,” he added.

The team handed the items to members of the Clark Development Corporation that organized the delivery of goods to Batangas.

The Wyndham Destinations service center is part of Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific, which develops, markets and sells vacation ownership interests and manages a collection of hotel and resort properties and mixed-used timeshare and hotel developments in the region.

Officially opened in October 2019, the Clark office supports four other corporate offices, 20 preview centers and 70 resorts across Asia Pacific and Europe.

The service centre also raised funds for Save the Children Philippines in 2018 and Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth, a home for underprivileged children with special needs, last year. (PR)
