FIRST, a local issue: Mabalacat Mayor Cris Garbo was wise to defer the holding of the Caragan Festival. All over the Covid-19-stricken planet, gatherings that are supposed to be festive are being cancelled, and Mabalacat would have stood out as sore thumb had he not done so.
Otherwise, the consequences could possibly be dire. One sickness from the Carangan crowd, especially one that would require a 14-day quarantine regardless of whether it turns out to be Covid19, would be enough for a conflagration of panic and to make a catastrophe of a political reputation built on a sound health program. The worst would have been the possibility of a festival making the city the ground zero for local Covid19 transmission in the country.

Let’s move on to the pending warning, the first of the three prophecies from the Blessed Mother in her apparitions in Garabandal, Spain (1961-65).
In apparitions in Heede, Germany (1937-1940, 1945) to mystic and stigmatist Grete Ganseforth, Our Lord Jesus said “I am very near. The Earth will tremble and will suffer. It will be terrible, a Mini-Judgment. But do not fear. I am with you. You will rejoice and thank Me. Those who await Me will have My help, My grace, and My love. For those who are not in a state of grace, it will be frightening. The angels of justice are now scattered across the world. I will make Myself known to mankind. Every soul will recognize Me as their God. I am coming! I am at the door.”
Referring to the Warning as the “second Pentecost,” Our Lady told Fr. Estafano Gobbi: “The Second Pentecost will descend into hearts to transform them and make them sensitive and open to love, humble and merciful, free of all egoism and of all wickedness. And thus it will be that the Spirit of the Lord will transform the hearts of stone into hearts of flesh.”
Our Blessed Mother added: “...sinners will be converted; the weak will find support; the sick will receive healing; those far away will return to the house of the Father; those separated and divided will attain full unity. In this way, the miracle of the Second Pentecost will take place. It will come with the triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the world. Only then will you see how the tongues of fire of the Spirit of Love will renew the whole world, which will become completely transformed by the greatest manifestation of divine mercy.”
Also on the Warning, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837) had this to say: “A great purification will come upon the world preceded by an Illumination of Conscience in which everyone will see themselves as God sees them.”
St. Pope Pius XI (1792-1878) had commented on why the Warning had to come, saying: “Since the whole world is against God and His Church, it is evident that He has reserved the victory over His enemies to Himself. This will be more obvious when it is considered that the root of all our present evils is to be found in the fact that those with talents and vigor crave earthly pleasures, and not only desert God but repudiate Him altogether. Thus it appears they cannot be brought back in any other way except through an act that cannot be ascribed to any secondary agency, and thus all will be forced to look to the supernatural. There will come a great wonder, which will fill the world with astonishment. This wonder will be preceded by the triumph of revolution. The church will suffer exceedingly. Her servants and her chieftain will be mocked, scourged, and martyred.”
