MASANTOL -- A 60-year-old man was arrested by local authorities here for allegedly causing alarm and scandal on a public road recently.
Major Elias Tait, town's chief of police, identified the suspect only as "George", a resident of Barangay Sta. Lucia Wakas in this town.
According to Tait, a concerned citized reported to their station that the suspect was threatening passers-by in Barangay San Isidro with a kitchen knife at midnight.
Police officers immediately responded to their area and apprehended the suspect, Tait said.
During the arrest, Tait said the suspect discretely dropped something on the ground, which the responding police officers later discovered to be two sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu.”
George was immediately brought to the police station along with the pieces of evidence for filing of charges.
