Victorias City launches ‘15th Wellness Program for Progress’

VICTORIAS City Mayor Francis Frederick "Wantan" Palanca strengthens the implementation of its annual Wellness Program for Progress (WPP) that kicked off from February 8 and pinnacled on the 15th, in time for his 60th birthday

celebration.

The local chief executive was delighted to broaden the health services of the city government down to the barangays wherein children and adult alike availed of the various free medical services offered by the city in that duration.

It was this time that the city mayor entered the threshold of his new citizenship, his senior year, reaching the age of 60, but still enjoying his physical vigorousness and vitality.

His passion to serve means so much to him as servant leadership runs in the blood.

WPP activities include medical mission with free medical consultation, dental extraction, eye check-up with free eyeglasses, minor surgical operations with ear piercing, haircut, therapeutic massage, giving of slippers and feeding program.

Mayor Palanca also led the bloodletting drive where he himself donated his own blood to save others.

The Serbisyo Caravan sent the Offices of Agriculture, Veterinarian, COMELEC, City Health Office, Civil Registrars, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Army and Task Force Kasanag to conduct free medical consultation; dental extraction; blood sugar testing; haircut and massage; various veterinary services such as consultation, rabies vaccination for dogs, deworming for carabaos and goats, credentials for large animals, free insurance from PCIC, and livestock vitamins.

Other services offered were Comelec voter’s registration; Civil Registrar’s delayed registration of birth, marriage and death, processing of application for legitimation of illegitimate children, documents for use of father’s surname, application for mass wedding on March 21 and assessment of documents for change of first name and correction of clerical errors.

The wellness program also included giving the DSWD application for senior citizens ID, PWD ID, Solo Parent ID, social pension, assistance to individuals in crisis situations and medical assistance, social protection for abused women and children, including rice and vegetable seeds dispersal, vermi worms and vermicast dispersal, tilapia fingerlings dispersal, organic foliar fertilizer dispersal and technical advice on organic farming technologies from the City Agriculture.

Simultaneous children’s party of the Day Care centers in the City also took place.

With all the services that the people have enjoyed to help them maintain health and wellness, the city government also held the Miss Valentine 2020 where gorgeous and talented Victoriahanons participated.

To cap it all, Mayor Palanca likewise celebrated his birthday and was grateful to God Almighty for His continues blessings to him and his family.
