Garbo eyes Mabalacat as model, peaceful city

MABALACAT CITY -- “I want Mabalacat to be a model and peaceful city.”

These were the words of Mayor Cris Garbo when he announced to his kabalens the completion of two separate stations for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Aside from the fire and police stations, the City Government is currently establishing its command center which will operate with 170 closed circuit televisions (CCTVs) 24 hours a day, according to the mayor.

“Meron na po tayong bagong PNP and Fire Stations, susunod na ang Command Center, 170 plus CCTVs will be our eyes 24/7,” Garbo said.

The mayor said the police and fire officers may respond quickly in any situations because of the strategic location of the two new stations, which were erected at the center of the city in Barangay Mabiga.

“The new PNP and BFP stations located at the center of city in Barangay Mabiga. People living in the southern part of city from Barangay Mabiga all the way to Barangay Tabun in the north may now expect quick response from law enforcement and rescue units during emergencies,” Garbo added.

Seven million pesos was spent for the construction of the police and fire stations, according to the local chief executive.

He added that some P90 million were appropriated by the local government for the completion of the command center project.
