FORMER University of Southern Philippines Foundation standout Joseph Sedurifa sparked the Makati-Super Crunch to a 94-88 win in Game One of their 2019-20 Chooks-to-Go/MPBL Lakan North quarterfinals series, on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at the San Andres Sports Complex.

With the game hanging in the balance, Sedurifa connived with Joshua Torralba in a torrid 11-0 run to give Makati a 13-point lead, 94-81, with just 32 seconds remaining.

Former Ateneo de Cebu ace Rev Diputado tried to pump life into Bulacan with seven straight points, but time clearly was not on their side as Makati went on to snatch the win and a 1-0 series advantage.

Jong Baloria spearheaded the offensive attack with 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting, along with three rebounds and two assists. Sedurifa finished with 17 points, seven boards, four assists, and two steals while Cedric Ablaza had 17 markers as well.

Torralba chipped in 15 points highlighted by three treys in the victory.

Bulacan, meanwhile, was led by Jovit Dela Cruz and Diputado with 17 points apiece.

Game Two will be on Feb. 22 at the Makati Coliseum.
