Central Luzon remains Covid-19 free

THE Department of Health (DOH)-Central Luzon said that Central Luzon remains free from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of Tuesday noon, February 18.

Based on the latest update of DOH regional office, a total of 59 persons have been onsidered patients under investigation (PUIs) since February 10, 2020.

Fifty-three of the PUIs were already discharged from hospitals after testing negative for Covid-19 and healed from the minor symptoms they manifested, the DOH said.

The remaining six, however, are still in different hospitals in the region, as they undergo testing or awaiting results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.

Of the six PUIs, the DOH said two each come from Pampanga and Zambales, and one each from Bulacan and Nueva Ecija.

The DOH said it remains in coordination with government and non-government organizations to prevent the spread of disease in the country.

It also reminded anew the public to continuously practice proper hygiene and avoid crowded places as a precautionary measure.
