2 unidentified cadavers recovered in Bukidnon

POLICE Regional Office (PRO) bared that two unidentified cadavers of the New People’s Army (NPA) members, who died in 2017, were recovered by authorities.

Davao Spokesperson Major Eudisan Gultiano, during the AFP-PNP Press Corps Southern Mindanao Press Conference at The Royal Mandaya Hotel Davao City Wednesday, February 19, said policemen dug and recovered two cadavers belonging to CTGs identified as alias Ka Al from Quezon, Bukidnon and alias Ka Dope from Cagayan de Oro.

She said their remains were turned over to Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office.

Gultiano called on the public who may have family members who went missing or have lost contact with, specifically in Bukidnon area to coordinate with the PRO Davao or to Agusan del Sur Police Office directly in case they know the remains.

In a separate press conference earlier Wednesday, PRO Davao director Filmore Escobal presented the result of their successful operation that led to the recovery of several firearms. It was a joint operation of different law enforcement agencies and security forces.

The operation resulted to the recovery of an M14 rifle, a Springfield Garand rifle, an anti-personal mine, three M14 magazines, 42 rounds of 7.62 ammunition, a clip of caliber .30 and nine rounds caliber .30 ammunition.

The information on the location of the firearms was provided by former NPA members who surrendered to the government. (Shane Therese D. Caangay and Sittie Nor-Irish A. Zamora, University of Mindanao interns)
