Panaad sa Negros golf fest tee off today

CLOSE to 100 golfers around Negros Occidental will gather Saturday as the 36-hole 2010 Panaad sa Negros Golf Tournament opens at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club.

The two-day competition sponsored by the Vice Mayor’s League of Negros Occidental is open to all golfers and will be played in accordance with the USGA and RPGA.

Tournament will be played in 36-holes, full- handicap and in Stableford system.

Handicap for the month of March will be used and allows a maximum of 30 for players with certified handicaps. If a player has two or more National Golf Association of the Philippines (Ngap) handicap indexes officially certified by their club, the lowest index will be used. Players without handicap could play in the guest division using system 36 handicapping.

Meanwhile, among the categories to be contested are Classes A, B, C and D, Guest Division and the Ladies. A hole-in-one prize of P50,000 will be awarded on all Par 3’s by which reward will be raffled in case nobody made the shot.

In case of tie, it shall be settled by matching the final score cards and determining the winner on the basis of the aggregate points over the following: (1) last 18 holes, if tied; (2) the last 9 holes, if still tied; (3) the last 9 holes, if still tied; the last 3 holes and if still tied, draw lots.

This tournament is chaired by Silay City Vice Mayor Mark Golez.
