P83,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P83,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Wednesday, February 19.

The operations led to the arrest of Mark Anthony Culdora, Jiff Lim, Isagani Tarlac, and a 16-year–old boy, all residents of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Lim and Tarlac were arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at Purok Bayanihan Barangay Villamonte at 8:25 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 10 sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P72,000, and the P500 marked money.

Pico said that Lim was identified as street level target in Bacolod City and was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest along with his companion

Culdora and the minor were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 at Purok Bagoong Hilway, Barangay 22 at about 5 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P11,000, the P300 marked money, and P520 cash.

Culdora was also identified as street level target in the city.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 4 and 5 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the minor was endorsed to Social Development Center. (MAP)
